Oval Framed Trug with Wild Carrot Seed Heads

Enjoy the company of fellow weavers in my workshop, weaving a useful garden trug. The workshop is aimed at complete beginners and those wishing to re-visit techniques. Throughout the day you will be given individual tuition together with demonstrations to create a shallow drug for flowers or vegetables. We will be working on an oval frame and using a simple weave, which is suitable for all levels of learner. All materials and tools provided to complete your basket.

Plant Supports @ cornworthy

Weave a willow obelisk/plant support for your sweat peas, runner beans or just a willow sculpture for the garden. All materials provided including tools. A relaxed morning of weaving with plenty of laughter and suitable for all!

Willow Bee Skeps which pre-date the more known coiled straw type.

bee skep @ the workshop cornworthy

Learn to weave a traditional bee skep from willow with a brief history of skeps through the ages. The skeps are worked on a former to create the conical shape. Those with more experience can use different weaving techniques. however you will be guided through several basket weaves. The skeps make an ideal shelter for all bees and insects throughout the whole year and can be a feature within your garden or patio. The workshop is suitable for absolute beginners, together with those wishing to expand their knowledge. All materials included to finish during the day or at home - tools available at the workshop.

Enjoy a relaxed day and immerse yourself in the ancient art of basket making, surround by the Devon countryside.

Refreshments provided including gluten free cake and a light vegetarian lunch.
